An electrical engineer with over 44 years of experience in the aviation industry performing avionics systems engineering, hardware design and development, project management, continuous improvement initiatives, and finding compliance with aerospace regulations (FAA 14 CFR and global equivalents).
Over 35 years of leadership experience managing personnel and organizations including engineering, quality and continuous improvement, and program management. · Avionics maintenance: Repair & overhaul authorizations per 14 CFR Part 145 ‘Repair Stations’, and Part 43 ‘Maintenance, Preventive Maintenance, Rebuilding, and Alteration’

· Global coordination: Working with various country Civil Aviation Authorities such as the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), Transport Canada Civil Aviation (TCCA), the United Kingdom Civil Aviation Authority (UKCAA), Agência Nacional de Aviação Civil (ANAC), and the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) for the validation and acceptance of FAA STC and TSOA, and avionics safety issues
Safety:
· System safety analyses per SAE ARP 4754 ‘Guidelines for Development of Civil Aircraft and Systems’, SAE ARP 4761 ‘Guidelines and Methods for Conducting the Safety Assessment Process on Civil Airborne Systems and Equipment’
· Safety assessments showing compliance to certification standards by performing system hazard analyses, fault tree analyses, failure mode and effects analyses
· Safety oversight: Managing compliance per FAA Order 00-68 ‘Voluntary Disclosure Reporting Program’, managing noncompliances with FAA and foreign regulatory agencies
Aircraft systems:
· Operations: Direct support of major airlines supporting entry into service of new avionics and continued operation of existing avionics systems
· Systems: Aircraft surveillance systems (TCAS, Transponder), flight controls, displays, communication, warning systems, flight and performance management systems
· Design and development: Avionics digital and analog circuit design, test equipment design, system integration facility design and development
